TB-500
Overview
TB-500 is a synthetic fragment corresponding to amino acids 17–23 of Thymosin Beta-4 (Tβ4), a naturally occurring 43-amino acid peptide found in most human cells. Tβ4 promotes actin polymerization, modulates cell migration, differentiation, and survival. TB-500 retains the actin-binding domain of the full protein and has demonstrated tissue-protective and angiogenic effects in animal models. Phase I/II clinical trials of the related full Thymosin Beta-4 molecule have been conducted for wound healing (NCT02597803, ophthalmic) and cardiac repair. Human systemic evidence for the isolated TB-500 fragment is extremely limited; most data comes from in vitro and animal studies. A research compound — not approved for human use. Consult a licensed physician before use.

What Experts Say
“"As far as I know, TB-500 isn't growth promoting — it focuses on tissue repair through stem cell and extracellular matrix proliferation"”
TB-500 is a truncated synthetic version of Thymosin Beta-4, naturally produced by the thymus gland. It promotes tissue repair by encouraging proliferation of stem cells, fibroblasts, and growth of the extracellular matrix — without impacting growth hormone pathways. Huberman corrects the common misconception that TB-500 is growth-promoting; it is repair-focused. Often stacked with BPC-157. Animal data is positive; human trials are lacking.
“"Still BPC 157, TB 500, you know, ipamorelin and stuff like that, like, the same stuff that I've always used before"”
Derek (MPMD) stacks TB-500 with BPC-157 and Ipamorelin as his standard injury recovery protocol. Context: severe back, neck pain and sciatica from intensive unilateral bow hunting training. He frames TB-500 as a routine tool alongside stem cell injections and electrical muscle stimulation.
