Calcium Citrat
Overview
Calcium citrate is a form of calcium absorbed without requiring stomach acid, preferable for people with low stomach acid or taking proton pump inhibitors. Calcium supports bone and teeth structure, muscle function, blood clotting, and nerve transmission. Adults need 1,000–1,200 mg daily. Upper limit is 2,500 mg/day. High-dose supplements may increase kidney stone and cardiovascular risk. Take at least 4 hours apart from levothyroxine (thyroid medication).
