Vitamin B3 (Niacin)
Overview
Vitamin B3 (niacin) is a water-soluble vitamin that converts to NAD/NADP coenzymes essential for energy production and cellular function. Forms include nicotinic acid, niacinamide, and NAD precursors NMN and NR. Adults need 14–16 mg daily. The upper limit from supplements is 35 mg per day. Nicotinic acid causes skin flushing at 30+ mg. High pharmacological doses (1,000+ mg) can cause liver damage and glucose intolerance.

Niacin (B3 vitamin) increases NAD+ and NADH levels in pancreatic beta cells, boosting cellular energy and function.
