DHA (Omega-3)
Overview
DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) is an omega-3 fatty acid found in high concentrations in the brain, retina, and cell membranes, essential for neurological function and infant brain development. Found in fatty fish (salmon, mackerel) and algal oil. Up to 3 g/day combined EPA+DHA is considered safe. Higher doses may increase bleeding time; use caution with anticoagulants. Particularly important during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
